Final Tasks of the Semester

  • Two courses are done, and grades submitted.
  • I have to give one LAST final this morning and average those grades.
  • Our program assessment document has been given enough of a working over that we can all claim we've thought about our curriculum if WASC corners us in a dark hallway.
  • I've redone our hiring documents to incorporate AAA interview procedures and the really stressful timeline we've decided is necessary (getting an offer out by late December). Blech.
  • Today, I have to send out Assessment hooha for the GE course I coordinate and then turn that report in.
  • Order books for fall seminar.
  • Have to attend a marshall(ing) meeting tomorrow for commencement.
  • Friday is the Dean's reception for Master's candidates.
  • Commencement, and then graduation party here on Saturday.
  • Today, I'm going to order the cake, finish figuring out the food, and start cleaning up my back yard (object of procrastination #2).
  • One of these days I'm going to start working on my article revisions for the looming deadline that wakes me up in the middle of the night (object of procrastination #1, though at least I have ILL'd the necessary books and a few are even interesting.)
  • Oh yeh, then there is the tenure party for which we have YET to set dates. Let's get this on the calendar. Choices: my house or a picnic at V Sattui. I'm up for either.

Another vote for V Sattui. I haven't been back there since we went.
