Where I lived in ye olden days...

Turns out that the campus where my conference is has wireless internet, so here I am again--two posts in one morning. I wanted to post this link for MP1 and MP2. Southern Heart, who blogs a photo-a-day for Memphis, made my month last week by driving to my old neighborhood in Memphis, and taking a picture of the house I lived in during my later elementary school years. You guys have heard me talk about the school I attended during this period, East High (which included K through 12th grade), and how I used to see Cybill Shepherd running around the high school side of the building in those days in her saddle shoes and bobby socks. She was a cheerleader and teen model who was beginning to gain regional celebrity. I know my older brother and I saw her in a school play or two back then. So anyway, take a peek at the house. And then go back a couple posts before my house, and you'll see the church I attended. A walk down nostalgia lane for me, thanks to Southern Heart.

Awwww! I've been swamped at work and am just now catching up. I'm so glad that you enjoyed seeing your lovely childhood home, and that it brought back memories for you. That makes my day!

I wanted to let you know that I photographed the MCM house today, and I think you'll find that it's as pretty as you remember. :) I'm posting photos from Dixon Gardens for a few days, but will post that photo after the Dixon series. I will leave you a note to let you know when I do. I also hope to photograph East, proabably in the summer when I will have easy access to the grounds. It is a very pretty school.

BTW, my dad dated Cybill's mother, before he met my mother, and she met Bill Shepard. Small world getting smaller all the time...
