A friend, colleague and former graduate student of mine lost her husband over the weekend, so she's been on my mind everyday. They were an adorable couple--both in the medical field--both super smart and outgoing--spent most of their lives taking care of other people. These losses are devastating and life-changing, but I know she'll come out on the other side of this with that same fun-loving personality and radiant outlook on life.
